This photograph conveys the importance of rainwater in keeping plants thriving, as well as our state. As we know California is an agriculture state, however with our ongoing drought the New York Times reports, "farmers and ranchers contemplate a future without — or with much less — water (https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/12/us/ca-drought-crops.html)." Water is essential to not only one plant, but our state as a whole. It is important for us to be cautious about the way we use water and to not be wasteful.

These are our flowers after watering them. Watering plants is a necessity to keep them growing, however according to the Pacific Institute, California’s urban areas are letting between 770,000 and 3.9 million acre-feet of water spill away every year. Because of this using the correct amount of water is needed and can be done by using an automatic irrigation system with moisture sensors.
