Mary Ellen Mark's work consists of photojournalism documentary, portrait, and street photography. The two pictures are similar in showing portraits of people and they look to be street photography and not planned out. On the left is Mark's work that shows someone in the middle of the picture with good composition and also having the max white be in the background and the max black be in the forefront with the girls shirt. My picture to the right shows similar composition, however there is more max black in the forefront compared to Mark's.

Diane Arbus' photography was compiled of portraits and on of her famous works was the two twins. In comparing both photographs they both have similar compositions in having the person be in one of the columns for the three by three grid. The pictures has a black and white filter and they're similar in also showing max white with the background in the right side of the picture with the max black being on the left side of the person. My picture to the right shows max white in the space surrounding the person and the max black in the background.
Walker Evans compiles his work based on documentary with black and white pictures. Through the picture on the left of two people driving a car we can see that it is in motion because of the blurriness in the background of their picture. The blurriness aside the composition of the picture is still good and has the focus on the people well in the forefront. In comparison, my picture has the focus on the people in the center with the composition being good and having the picture taken at a high angle to fit the two people in the frame.
Tyler Mitchell uses photography to capture his best works surrounding fashion. Through his fashion photography he captures the variety of colors from the clothing of his subjects as well as their surroundings. In the picture to the right is one of Mitchell's picture capturing the contrast of white and red, both bright colors. Similarly, my picture to the right shows the colors of the forefront blue and pink in contrast to one another, especially since the majority of the background is a warm color. The focal point of both pictures is aimed at the people in each picture. Both of the picture also have the subjects in the center of the frames.
Minor White's photography style consisted of black and white fine art. Both pictures show black and white fine art, on the left is White's Polar Trees picture which shows a max white though the trees and the clouds. The max black is from the shadows of the trees, the background in the mountains and in the forefront a bit from the tree trunks. On the right is my picture which shows max black in the forefront with the plants and the lake. The max white comes from the sky in the background.
